GTA 6 on PC: Everything We Know About the Port That Hasn't Been Announced
There is no GTA 6 PC release date, no PC launch window, and no acknowledgement from Rockstar that a PC version exists. Here is what history actually tells us about when it arrives — and why the wait is shorter than you think.
The blunt version
As of July 2026, Rockstar has announced:
Grand Theft Auto VI launches November 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S only. There is no PS4, no Xbox One, no Switch 2, and no PC version at launch.
Anyone quoting you a PC date right now is guessing.
Why a PC version is nonetheless certain
Rockstar has never permanently skipped PC for a mainline GTA. Every entry since GTA III has arrived on PC eventually, and the commercial case in 2026 is stronger than it has ever been:
The question is not *if*. It is *when*.
The historical pattern
This is the only real evidence available, so it is worth laying out precisely:
| Game | Console release | PC release | Gap |
|---|---|---|---|
| GTA IV | April 2008 | December 2008 | ~8 months |
| GTA V | September 2013 | April 14, 2015 | 18 months, 28 days |
| Red Dead Redemption 2 | October 2018 | November 2019 | ~13 months |
GTA V's gap is the outlier, and it is the one most people anchor on. But note the trend since: RDR2's gap was five months shorter, and Rockstar has been steadily faster with PC ports across the last decade.
The realistic window
Applying the RDR2-to-GTA-V range to a November 19, 2026 console launch:
If forced to pick, late 2027 looks the most defensible — Rockstar has both improved its port cadence and has a much larger PC business to serve than it did in 2013.
What about the "enhanced" console versions?
There is a second pattern worth noting: GTA V shipped on PS3/360, then PS4/Xbox One, then PC, then PS5/Xbox Series. GTA 6 starts on current-gen, which removes the intermediate step entirely.
That is another reason to expect a shorter gap this time. There is no last-gen version holding the pipeline.
Storefronts
Also unconfirmed, but the expectation is:
Rockstar delayed the Steam release of RDR2 by roughly a month behind its own launcher and Epic. A repeat would not be surprising.
What would actually signal a PC version
Watch for these, in rough order of reliability:
None of these have appeared. Until one does, 2027–2028 remains an educated guess built on pattern-matching, nothing more.
