GTA VI Release Date Confirmed: November 19, 2026

Rockstar Games officially confirmed Grand Theft Auto VI will launch on November 19, 2026 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S after two delays.

Rockstar Games has finally set a firm release date for Grand Theft Auto VI — November 19, 2026 — exclusively for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

History of Delays

The road to this date hasn't been smooth. Originally expected in Fall 2025, the game was first pushed to May 26, 2026. Then, on November 6, 2025, Rockstar announced yet another delay to the current November date.

In their official statement, Rockstar said:

"We are sorry for adding additional time to what we realize has been a long wait, but these extra months will allow us to finish the game with the level of polish you have come to expect."

Take-Two CEO: "Feeling Very Good"

During the latest earnings call, Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick reassured investors that development is on track. He confirmed the game's marketing campaign will kick off in summer 2026, a strong signal that the November date will stick.

What This Means for Players

  • Console players will be able to play GTA VI on November 19, 2026
  • PC players will have to wait — likely 12-18 months after the console launch (see our PC article)
  • Pre-orders are expected to open soon, with PlayStation Store title IDs already spotted in the database
  • This is shaping up to be the biggest game launch in history. Rockstar has had over a decade since GTA V to perfect the formula, and all signs point to a game that will redefine open-world gaming.
