63 Screenshots, Decoded: Every Gameplay Detail Rockstar Quietly Confirmed

Rockstar dropped 63 new GTA 6 screenshots alongside the pre-order launch — and buried in them are the first hard confirmations of character customization, garages, weapon lockers, fencing, gang hideouts and vehicle mods.

The biggest information drop since Trailer 2

When pre-orders opened, Rockstar published 63 new Grand Theft Auto VI screenshots across its updated site. Most coverage treated them as pretty pictures. They are considerably more useful than that — this is the first time Rockstar has confirmed systems rather than just showing off vistas.

Here is what the set actually establishes.

Character customization is in — and it is deep

The screenshots confirm player-facing customization covering:

  • Hair and beards
  • Makeup
  • Nails
  • Tattoos
  • Outfits
  • This is a meaningful shift. In GTA V, Michael, Franklin and Trevor were fixed characters with wardrobe options. The breadth shown here — nails and makeup as distinct categories — points at something closer to a full appearance editor applied to Jason and Lucia rather than a clothing menu.

    Vehicle customization: performance and visual

Two separate customization tracks are visible:

  • Performance upgrades — the traditional engine/brakes/transmission tuning tree
  • Visual mods — described by Rockstar as a "wide selection of artistic and performance-based vehicle mods"
  • Rockstar's own wording calls out detailed interiors, rims, and donk stylings — the last of which is a specific, very Florida nod to lifted, big-rim custom culture. Interior customization in particular has never been a first-class GTA feature before.

Personal garages, weapon lockers and stash boxes

Property is back, and the screenshots show what is inside it:

  • Personal garages for stored vehicles
  • Weapon lockers — persistent storage rather than an infinite carried inventory
  • Stash boxes — implying items you need somewhere to put
  • A weapon locker only makes sense if the game imposes carry limits. That lines up with the redesigned weapon wheel reportedly holding two rifles and two pistols at once, rather than GTA V's walking-armoury approach.

    Fencing stolen goods

One of the more interesting confirmations: you can fence stolen goods for cash. That is an economy loop, not a mission type — it implies stealable valuables scattered through the world with a conversion path back to money.

    Gang hideouts can be raided

The screenshots confirm gang hideouts that can be raided for contraband. Again, this reads as a repeatable open-world activity rather than scripted story content — closer to Red Dead Redemption 2's gang camps than to GTA V's empty map markers.

    The Classic Car Collection

The single biggest reveal in the set: the first confirmed named in-game activity, in which you track down abandoned classic and work-in-progress project cars for a collector named Wyman. We have broken that one out separately — see our full piece on Wyman's Classic Car Collection.

Twelve of the 63 are pre-order bonus shots

Worth knowing before you go hunting for secrets: 12 of the 63 screenshots are dedicated to the Vintage Vice City Pack, the pre-order bonus — outfits, hairstyles and weapons styled after the 2002 game. Those are cosmetic showcases, not world reveals.

Similarly, the exclusive weapon customization shots — custom grips, engravings, alternative scopes — are illustrating Ultimate Edition content specifically.

    What is still not shown

Being honest about the gaps, because they matter:

  • No HUD in any shot — these are cleaned-up captures, not gameplay
  • No frame-rate or performance information
  • No mission structure beyond the car collection
  • Nothing about the online component
  • Screenshots confirm that features exist. They tell you nothing about how they feel. That is what Trailer 3 is for.
