May 21 Earnings Call: GTA VI Pre-Orders and Trailer 3 in the Crosshairs

Take-Two has scheduled its next earnings call for May 21, 2026. Industry watchers expect this is the date Rockstar finally announces pre-orders, drops Trailer 3, and locks in pricing for the November launch.

Mark your calendars: Thursday, May 21, 2026 at 4:30 p.m. ET. That's when Take-Two Interactive holds its Q4 FY26 earnings call — and it's increasingly looking like the day Rockstar finally breaks the GTA VI silence.

Why May 21 Specifically

Earnings calls are where Take-Two is legally obligated to share fiscal year guidance. With GTA VI launching on November 19 — squarely inside Rockstar's FY27 fiscal year — the May 21 call will need to discuss:

  • Pre-order timing — Investors expect concrete pre-order open dates, possibly with editions and price tiers

    Will Trailer 3 Drop With It?

    This is where it gets interesting. Rockstar has historically synchronised major marketing drops with corporate milestones — Trailer 1 dropped on December 5, 2023, the day after Take-Two's Q2 FY24 earnings prep, and was widely seen as a fiscal-year-positioning move.

    If Rockstar follows the pattern:

  • Most likely: Trailer 3 drops the morning of May 21 (or the day before/after), letting Strauss Zelnick reference it on the call
  • Possible: Trailer 3 drops within 1-2 weeks of the call as the formal "Summer 2026 marketing" kickoff
  • Less likely: Pre-orders open without a trailer (would undercut hype)

    CEO Strauss Zelnick on the February 2026 earnings call:

    "Launch marketing for Grand Theft Auto VI begins in summer 2026."

    That's the binding statement. Anything before May 21 is fan speculation. Anything *on or after* May 21 is what counts.

    The Pre-Order Reality Check

    Pre-orders haven't opened yet — but PlayStation database title IDs for GTA VI have already been spotted briefly appearing and disappearing throughout March and April. That's typical "preparing the storefront" behaviour. The retail backend is ready; what's missing is Rockstar saying go.

    GamingBible reported on April 23 that pre-orders are "locked in for May" based on industry leaks — though no specific date has been confirmed.
