GTA 6 Weapons Guide: All Confirmed Weapons & Categories

Every weapon category spotted in GTA 6 trailers and leaks — pistols, SMGs, assault rifles, shotguns, snipers, and melee. What we know before launch.

GTA VI has not been released yet

This content will be available after the official launch on November 19, 2026. We don't want to publish unverified or fabricated data.

Rockstar has not published a full GTA 6 weapon stat sheet, but trailers and credible leaks already point to the categories you will be using across Leonida. Browse the full list on our weapons database.

Confirmed weapon categories

  • Pistols — reliable sidearms for early missions and self-defence
  • SMGs — high fire rate, ideal for drive-bys and close quarters
  • Assault rifles — the all-rounders for most combat encounters
  • Shotguns — devastating up close, situational at range
  • Snipers — long-range precision for setups and heists
  • Melee & throwables — knives, bats, and grenades round out the arsenal
  • What we still don't know

Damage values, recoil, attachment systems, and the weapon wheel layout remain unconfirmed. The 2025–2026 leaks suggested a more detailed customization system than GTA V, but treat specifics as speculation until Rockstar shows gameplay.

    Tips for launch day

  • Expect early access to pistols and SMGs; rifles and snipers come as the story escalates
  • Weapon vendors (Ammu-Nation's successor) will likely gate stronger guns behind story progress
  • Watch our news feed for the official gameplay breakdown
  • Stats and tier lists will be added and tested once GTA VI launches on November 19, 2026.
