Fans Already Exploring GTA VI Map: GeoGuessr Clone Released Before Launch

A fan-made GeoGuessr game based on the GTA VI map has been released, letting players test their Vice City geography knowledge months before launch.

In a testament to the GTA community's dedication, a fan has created a GeoGuessr-style game based on the Grand Theft Auto VI map — and the game hasn't even launched yet.

How Is This Possible?

Using screenshots from official trailers, Rockstar's promotional materials, and carefully analyzed footage, fans have reconstructed enough of the Leonida map to create a playable geography guessing game.

Players are dropped into a location based on trailer footage and must guess where in Vice City or Leonida they are, based on landmarks, street signs, vegetation, and architecture visible in the screenshots.

Community Reaction

The game has gone viral on social media, with players competing for high scores:

"I can already navigate Vice Beach better than my own neighborhood" — Reddit user
"The level of detail Rockstar put into the trailers is insane. You can actually identify neighborhoods just from the architecture." — YouTube comment

What It Tells Us About the Map

The fact that a playable geography game can be built from trailer footage alone speaks volumes about the density and detail of GTA VI's world. Players have identified:

  • Distinct architectural styles per neighborhood (Art Deco in Vice Beach, Cuban influence in Little Cuba)
  • Realistic road layouts that mirror real Miami geography
  • Readable signage with fictional business names and street names
  • Vegetation changes between coastal, urban, and swamp biomes
  • Locations Featured

The fan game currently includes locations across:

  • Vice Beach — Ocean Drive, boardwalk, hotels
  • Downtown Vice City — Skyscrapers, financial district
  • Little Cuba — Colorful buildings, street markets
  • Grassrivers — Swamplands, airboat docks
  • Leonida Keys — Tropical islands, marinas
  • Port Gellhorn — Industrial port, shipping containers
  • Rockstar's Response

Rockstar has not commented on the fan project. Given their history of protecting their IP, the game may not last long — but for now, it's a creative way to build hype for the November 19 launch.
